Polyclonal Abs staining

Dear fellows,

My question is about relationship between polyclonal antibody and incubation time. In
some references I found that incubation time should be shorter if policlonal antibodis
are used (15 minutes for polyclonal Abs instead of 30 minutes for monoclonal antibody),
to prevent nonspecific binding. On the other hand, some people use much longer incubation
for polyclonal Abs than for monoclonal Abs (longer than 30 minutes).
What do you think? What is better way to get good staining and low background using
polyclonal Abs?

I need your personal experience and advice about this.

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely
