Even DNA and Ploidy analyses require differentiation of doublets v singlets which requires rigorous inspection of various signal properties. To run single colour analyses would be to give you erroneous information in most cases. If you are looking to release a one colour instrument, be careful what you choose as your primary signal. If you are looking to release a new fluorochrome, be careful of its spectral qualities. If you are looking to increase market share in healthcare, be careful that you have the right instrument.
