Doug, > Are there any autoloaders that can be used for the Beckman Coulter > Elite/Altra? I will be checking out Cytek. Their wand which we bought past > was very difficult to use with 96 well plates. That is, getting the wand to > seal properly was difficult and a little frustrating, plus it was very > tiring to use. Any other experiences or useful tidbits? Not familiar with the "wand" in question but it sounds like it's a manual rather than automatic device. That being the case, I should mention our own home built device that we have been very happy with over many years. It uses a disc valve loaded by a 20-200 microlitre pipetter. Simple to use with any kind of container (plates or tubes), volumes as low as ~10 microlitre. See Cytometry 6:492-4 1985. If you have engineering support they should be able to make one. [Aside: Yes, if we had been more commerce-savvy back then we could have patented and licensed it. Instead it's in the public domain.] Frank.
