Not familiar with the "wand" in question but it sounds like it's a
manual rather than automatic device.  That being the case, I should
mention our own home built device that we have been very happy with
over many years.  It uses a disc valve loaded by a 20-200 microlitre
pipetter.  Simple to use with any kind of container (plates or tubes),
volumes as low as ~10 microlitre.  See Cytometry 6:492-4 1985. If you
have engineering support they should be able to make one.

[Aside: Yes, if we had been more commerce-savvy back then we could
have patented and licensed it.  Instead it's in the public domain.]
