I was reading a paper that cited two different DNA indices, 1.63 corresponding to the right ovary & 1.87 corresponding to the left ovary, and the authors concluded from this difference that the tumors were of different histologic types. My question is: are these in fact two different tissue types based on the DNA indices, and what is the margin of error that is allowed between two DNA indices before one can say they are different tissue types? In your opinion, are these different tumors, or the same? Thank you for considering & answering my question. Sincerely, Mike Goodheart Fellow Gyn Onc Univ of Iowa
