An opening is available to operate a core sorting facility
in an AIDS immunology research laboratory. The sort laboratory is
currently equipped with a Coulter Epics Elite ESP in BL2+ biocontainment, but will
be upgraded to a high-speed cell sorter within 1 year.

Primary responsibilities include advising principal investigators on
sorting strategies, performing biohazardous and nonbiohazardous sorts, data
storage and assisting with presentation of their results. Assisting with
4-color analysis using 2-BD FACS Caliburs and 1 Coulter XL may be required. The
laboratory has a strong emphasis on tetramer analysis. The ability to
work independently is essential. Minimum requirements are a BS degree and/or
two years of experience in flow cytometry.

The Division of Viral Pathogenesis at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical
Center focuses on AIDS pathogenesis and vaccine development.
