Brian,

I've had an Elite since 1991.  it is a great instrument.  rarely breaks.  had some
troubles
on start up. but on the whole very reliable.  and the PC interface is cheaper, and easily
upgraded as opposed to any MAC solution you'd be saddled with on the FacStar.

I recently (last 3 weeks) got an ESP upgrade for my Elite, new CPU, optics etc. seems
to be ok after a couple of tweeks.
