RE: Listmode file storage

In the GB+ range the only thing besides DAT is possibly DVD-RAM drives.
In the next few years I expect them to release affordable recordable DVD
drives.

Right now 40 GB ATA drives can be found for under $400. A good price per GB.
This is easily installed into the MAC or PC. Might want to look into
removable hard drives.

I would continue to back up to DAT and then store the data on large drives.
It has been my experience that the older the data the less it needs to be
re-accessed.

Dear All,

I have a query regarding file storage and would appreciate hearing how
others are storing their listmode data.

I am doing research and am creating relatively large files (in the GB+
range) that I would like to store in a 'removable/portable' form as well as
on the hard disk. We have a DAT drive, but this is proving difficult to
access.

Any advice (+ prices) would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Sarah Lawson
