You could try Tri-Link Technologies (www.trilinkbiotech.com) - they sell
oligonucleotides labelled at one end with a fluorophore and at the other
with a quencher, which they describe as molecular beacons.  They list a
reference of Nature Biotechnology 14, 303-308 (1996).
