Dear Friends, Yes, its that time again.... NSF CCLI re-submission time. I have the good fortune of using a BD FACScan in my teaching and research at Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH. Wittenberg is a primarily undergraduate institution (PUI) with a strong biology program. I am resubmitting an NSF CCLI proposal to upgrade the computing hardware and software systems of our FACScan. We are actually running the original HP Consort 30 system with an interface board from Verity software that allows us to upload our data to a Windows NT system running WidMDI. A less than perfect scenario but it works unless I try to enter the actual date. I thought this Y2K stuff was bunk, but the HP actually crashes horribly when you enter in a year 2000 date. What I seek from all of you is the following: 1.) Are any of you out there at PUI's with flow cytometers? (Thank you R. Kowles for past replies!) 2.) If yes to #1, could you let me know a little bit about how you incorporate flow cytometry into your curriculum? 3.) If you are at a PUI without a flow cytometer, do you have access to one at a local hospital or research center?' 4.) If you are at a PUI without a flow cytometer, would you be interested in acquiring one from the used equipment market? Any information you feel important to share is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
