Well, I decided to do a Fourth Edition of Practical Flow Cytometry, which I hope will come out from Wiley some time toward the end of 2001. If you don't have the Third Edition, buy one; you can't afford to stay out-of-date for over a year (the Third Edition is being reprinted and should be available shortly). Meanwhile, hum along with this: EDITION FOUR (To the tune of the Toreador Song from Carmen, by Georges Bizet) Here, today, I say in Montpellier, There's more to know of flow than I wrote years ago, Of compensation, polarization, GFP and DSP and bead assays galore. Lists of probes now tax our frontal lobes; Microfluidic chips are at our fingertips. My book's now slated to be updated, And I ask your aid in getting on, on with my chore. Send a quote from something that you wrote; E-mail me files of cells, and piles of URL's. Show me plots of what you stain, Tell me what I should explain - or else, it's plain, I'll strain my brain. Edition Four - help get it out the door; It should be nice, lower in price. Wiley promises a Web site for the book, where the students can look. I'll do a better job, I know it's true, If I get help from you. (c)Howard Shapiro ISAC 2000, Montpellier, France 21 May 2000 Thanks in advance, -Howard
