Andrea: We have found this phenomena to be associated with a protein in the plasma of certain patients. If you wash the cells once before staining it actually goes away. Didn't believe it myself until I tried the before and after! I don't think its associated with a pathological process as some of our normal control have showed this reversible co-expression as well. Give it a try! Joanne Joanne Thomas, M.S. Most of these cases show no CMC or morphological abnormalities and we are not sure about the clinical significance of this findings. Does anybody know a "non-malignant" explanation for this finding? QC of these antibodies looks fine. Thanks for your help! Andrea J. Illingworth, M.S. (ASCP) Dahl-Chase Diagnostic Services Flow Cytometry 333 State Street Bangor, Maine 04401
