Hi Joseph- The R3896 from Hamamatsu is a red-sensitive PMT that is plug-compatable with the Facstar+. You should be able to order direct from them. Here it costs US$650 each in small quantities. Before you do this, you could check and see what PMT is now in FL5. Maybe BD already gave you one (ha, ha, only kidding). Seriously you should check and see what kind of PMTs you do have. Although the 3896 is "red sensitive", it is also more sensitive throughout the spectrum at lest up through green. Upgrading your PMTs is one of the cheaper ways to improve your measurement sensitivity. Your FL3 (if you use it for PE-Cy5 or PE-TR) and FL4 (APC) will probably noticeably benefit, especially if they are R928 PMTs. Also, I am confused about what you are using for filters. I am assuming your 710LP is the beam splitter between the two channels. You will also need a bandpass filter in the APC channel to block any scattered laser light.
