Hi all, Thanks for the many helpful responses to my posted query. Some of the replies were not posted on the list so I thought it good to give a summary for those who are following this thread. 1) Almost everyone was in agreement that this was more likely to be megakaryoblastic leukemia rather than a neuroblastoma. 2) About half of neuroblastoma cell lines are CD34+. Clinical references include J Neuroimmunol 1999 96:201-6 3) Suggestions for the identification of neuroblastoma include a MIBG scan, repeat marrow exam, NSE / NB-84 cytochemistry, GD-2 and tetanus toxoid stains. CD56 bright staining was mentioned a couple of times. 4) Additonal markers for megakaryoblasts include CD36, possibly CD43. If anyone is interested, I can mail you a JPEG file (88k) of the relevant plots in our patient.
