SCIENTIST/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST IN IMMUNOPHENOTYPING AND TRANSPLANTATION The laboratory is an integral component of the haematological oncology and bone marrow transplantation service for Auckland Healthcare Services, providing a comprehensive flow cytometry service including an immunophenotyping service for leukaemia and lymphoma and has a well established expanding bone marrow and stem cell transplantation programme. The referral population is over 1.2 million and centred in Auckland A Technical Specialist position is available through staff resignation. This would suit a registered medical laboratory technologist or science graduate with extensive experience in haematology and immunophenotyping and transplantation. The appointee will be responsible for ensuring the performance of immunophenotyping by flow cytometry and immunocytochemistry, stem cell assays by flow cytometry and cell culture, interpreting the results together with the haematologist and pathologists, providing leadership in the further development of the service, as well as training of staff. The appointee will work together with a team of experienced haematologists and technical specialists as well as staff technologists. Applicants will need good communication skills, be able to work as a team and display initiative, have a high standard of work, be organised and work well under pressure.
