I started this topic about DRAQ5 two days before and since then I obtained much information about it. First from: http://www.biostatus.co.uk/products.html (don't forget the FAQ !) All of the technical data available here. 2nd: I've found some abstracts on the internet regarding the applications of DRAQ5 (e.g. www.molecularprobes.com/resources/focus/1999/poster3.html). 3rd: this is the future for me because I will obtain DRAQ5 today (I hope) and in some days I can report my first results. Some answers to your question: 1. From whom can it be purchased from USA? You can order it via the internet and purchase it directly from Biostatus, from UK. 2. Can it also be used as a live/dead discriminator, since it couples with DNA? I don't think so, because DRAQ5 is vital dye and stains the live and dead cells equally. 3. Are there any dangers in handling namely carcinogenic? It's a suspected mutagen. Best regards, Pal Jakso University of Pecs Faculty of Medicine Dept. of Pathology 7643, Hungary 12. Szigeti str.
