Fellow Core Managers:

The following topics are on the agenda for the Core Manager's Workshop to
be held during the ISAC XXI International Congress. We're looking for
individuals who feel they would like to make a contribution by sharing
their expertise in core lab management topics, specifically:

Funding:

Philanthropy in the core facility environment:
-Does anyone have a success story to share regarding recruiting ongoing
donor support of their facility?

Education:
Review of resources: books, media, and courses

Data presentation/QC:
-Will any of the "gatekeepers" step forward to present their view of how to
promote quality data generation, presentation, etc?

General management tools:
The plan is to cover basic tools for streamlining lab operation, i.e:
-On-line scheduling and usage tracking
-database management of client information, reagent stocks and protocols

Suggestions for other topics are welcome-please contact Julie Auger
(jauger@flowcity.bsd.uchicago.edu) or myself with any comments/ideas.

Thanks,
Mary
