CD36 on human monocytes

Hi!

I was wondering if anybody has experience studying the expression of CD36 on human monocytes (CD14 as marker) in fresh blood.

In my assay, after gating on monocytes on FSC-SSC blot, varying % of monocytes (2-10%) are CD36 positive. However, 5-16% are just CD36+. I am not sure about what these CD36+ cells are that are not CD14+. Can somebody help me with that.

Thanks in advance.
