Hi Ruth,

Not answering the question but have you tried using Annexin Cy3 in place
of PE? I found that in certain cell types, annexin-FITC gives nice
results while annexin-PE shows nothing - I suspect it may be a steric
affect of using the large PE molecule as replacing with annexin-Cy3
gives results comparable to the FITC. Although Cy3 isnt optimally
excited at 488nm, there is sufficient signal for it to be detected - the
emission maximum is about 570nm.
