Position Open: Cytometry Tech in Portland Maine

I have an opening in my laboratory for a technologist interested in living and working in the beautiful Portland, Maine area.  The position is to support both R&D activities developing new diagnostic tests and performing diagnostic flow cytometry testing in support of clinical trials in my lab at Maine Medical Center Research Institute.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform research and development activities related to new flow cytometry based diagnostic tests on blood.
* Participate in other R&D activities.
* Perform multicolor immunophenotyping assay in support of various clinical trials
* Responsible for instrument and product QC activities.
* Member of Technical Team.
* Member of the Management Team.
* Maintain laboratory work area.
* Maintain equipment.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, chemistry
or related scientific field and general, broad-based scientific knowledge. Medical Technology background is preferred.  Superior laboratory skills, with a minimum of two years of research and development experience or employment in a clinical laboratory hematology position. Experience utilizing flow cytometry in a clinical or research setting is also required. The person filling this position must be self-motivated and organized, with good interpersonal skills. Product and application-specific training will be provided.
