Well, it is certainly true that many "individuals who are hired/assigned/want to use flow cytometers have no or inadequate training." I was like that myself 16 years ago (and even now I often ask stupid questions). I think we should be encouraging beginners to use this network as a way to get started. I don't see any problem with beginners asking us naive or even stupid questions --- and I am perfectly willing to point them to references that may help them to get into the field. I think this network can be broad enough to answer simple questions from beginners and also sophisticated questions from experts. No problem, as far as I'm concerned. Alice Alice L.
