Hi Andy, I used to use a innova 70 Spectrum laser which is now about 7 years old and to get UV I would do as you said below except that the remote had a power switch option for UV plus I found it easier if you powered the multi-line to max so that it burns paper in air. I was had a repair done by Coherent on site and they said my remote was out of date so this may not apply to your system. Anyway I hope this is of some help.
