Hello,

A collaborator came to me to find out information about the right
preservative for whole blood. They are thinking to simply add the
preservative to whole blood and ship this sample to the central processing
place for lymphocyte staining, sorting and subsequent determination of
cytokine mRNA levels from different subsets. The ideal preservative will
stop the physiology right away and prevent the mRNA degradation.
Hopefully, by using this preservative, they will be able to minimize the
ex-vivo manipulation and the quantitation of mRNA will reflect the
situation in vivo. I appreciate your feedback regarding this issue.
Thanks.
