We follow HIV positive patients weekly for various subsets, including CD45RA/CD62L. Some patients have a spread of CD45RA which varies week to week (biological variation?). For many patients it can be difficult to distinguish between the negative and positive CD45RA populations. In evaluating our panel we have noted a decrease in CD45RA staining in some samples if the sample is run the next day and also if the sample is kept in the dark but at a warm room temperature for as short as 30 minutes. Any similar experiences with this subset or suggestions?
