Boston Users Group Meeting Announcement

From: Richard Konz (RKonz@genetics.com)
Date: Mon Sep 10 2001 - 11:18:12 EST

Greetings everyone:

On behalf of the Organizing Committee for the Boston Users Group for Cytometry (BUG),
we are pleased to announce BUG's 7th Annual all day meeting to be held on October 11,
from 8:30am to 5pm at the Charles River Hotel in Cambridge, MA.

Please visit our web site http://www.primushost.com/~bugbytes/ to register for
the meeting. Please print out the form, fill it out, enclose a check, and mail to BUG
(address on the bottom of the Registration page).

The theme of this year's meeting is "New Technologies in Flow and Image Cytometry"
and it features an impressive list of speakers represented by the major flow and
image manufacturers. Our speakers were invited to explain their technology from the
standpoint of a scientist or engineer, not from a sales perspective, so we will expect
to get in-depth technical information from each speaker which should help attendees
understand the capabilities of each companies instrumentation and novel developments.

Our speakers are listed below and are sponsored by the companies in brackets. Check our
website for updates including speaker titles and abstracts.

Mike Evans [XY Corporation]
Howard Shapiro [Howard M. Shapiro, MD, PC]
Joe Trotter, Ph.D. [BD Biosciences]
Peter Hansen, Ph.D. [Union Biometrica]
Carl Stewart, Ph.D. [Roswell Park Cancer Center]
Karen Hahnenberger Ph.D. [Agilent Technologies]
Awtar Krishan [NPE Systems]
Matt Ottenberg [Cytomation]
Frank Lucas Ph.D. [Beckman Coulter]

Registration will begin at 8:30am. The meeting will start at 9am. Directions to the
Charles River Hotel can be found on our web page listed above. The hotel is a short
walk from the Harvard Square T stop on the Red line. There will be an hour break for
lunch and two half hour breaks throughout the day. More information will be provided
on our website as it becomes available.

I want to thank all of you who have inquired about the BUG over the past several
years. We have recently reorganized our leadership and organizational structure to
best suit our Group's goals for the future. BUG's aim is to provide the structure for
an educational society that rewards all that participate.

We look forward to this meeting as one of our best and hope to see you there!

All the very best,
Richard Konz
