FLOW CYTOMETRIST POSITION AVAILABLE.

The Hematology Branch within the Division of Intramural Research at
the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, NIH, is looking for an
experienced flow cytometrist to independently manage a flow cytometry
laboratory at 5 Research Court. The individual selected will be
responsible for performing a variety of specialized procedures in support
of this facility including multicolor immunophenotyping, cell sorting, DNA
cell cycle analysis,  F-cell determinations, and analysis and evaluation
of research data using sophisticated software programs.


The incumbent must have extensive experience with independently
operating and maintaining a flow cytometer (such as a Coulter Elite).


Writing and preparation of scientific papers in recognized journals is
required for GS-12/GS-13 appointment.

Applicants should provide evidence of knowledge, skills and abilities in
the following: 1) Ability to operate a variety of specialized laboratory
equipment; 2) Ability to collect, compile and analyze scientific data; 3)
Knowledge of principles, theories and concepts of biological science and
chemistry; 4) Ability to plan and carry out research experiments.

The position will be at a GS-11 to a GS-13 (salary range: $$44,352 -
$82,180), depending on the level of experience. United States
