refrigerated specimens/cell clumping

Does anyone know of a documented study or has anyone performed a formal
study in their lab regarding the use of refrigerated specimens? This would
include both CD4 counts and leukemia/lymphoma studies. The problem is that
some physicians would like to add on flow to a peripheral blood-edta
tube-but it has been refrigerated at 4 degrees C. overnight or for 24 hrs.

Also, after preparing a lymph node or tissue specimen the cells remain in 2%
FBS/HBSS. The next day more clones may need to be run. In some specimens
we find clumping of cells. Does anyone have any experience with this and
how was it resolved? The HBSS is without calcium, magnesium, or phenol red.

Many thanks for any help.
