Proteinstaining

Dear flowers,


for years we used FITC as a staining for TOTAL PROTEIN CONTENT in
phytoplanktic cells. Now I was wondering, if there is some experience
with protein staining dyes such as oregon green 488 or alexa 488 for
such a special task. The dye has to have an emission, which does not
fall in the chlorophyll channels starting with 600 nm!
