Dear flowers, for years we used FITC as a staining for TOTAL PROTEIN CONTENT in phytoplanktic cells. Now I was wondering, if there is some experience with protein staining dyes such as oregon green 488 or alexa 488 for such a special task. The dye has to have an emission, which does not fall in the chlorophyll channels starting with 600 nm!
