Dear Group: I have been asked to put together a workshop on multicolor analysis for the next ISAC in San Diego... in trying to decide what to put into this program, I realized that it would be great to talk to the groups that are doing this work to find out what the most important issues are, what the problems are, and what the solutions are that all the clever people have come up with! Therefore, I'd like to hear from anyone and everyone, including academic, government, and private institutions, who is routinely doing 5 or more color flow cytometry. I would be pleased if the instrument manufacturers would assign one or two individuals to participate as well. Please have only one person per core facility or laboratory respond for now. By the way, I would love to hear from anyone doing 5+ color imaging (is there anyone?). Please send me a brief EMail detailing the following information. (1) Your contact information (EMail, phone, fax, address) (2) The maximum number of COLORS (fluorescences) you routinely measure (By routine, I mean that you've done it more than once or twice or just for fun...) Don't count scatter/size parameters. (3) What instruments & software you are using (4) What laser configurations you are using (5) Which fluorochromes you frequently measure and whether you purchase and/or make your reagents (6) Who, if anyone, from your group will be attending ISAC 2002, and whether these individuals would be willing to attend and participate in a workshop devoted to multicolor analysis Soon after I hear from you, I will send you an EMail requesting detailed optical, filter & PMT information for your detectors. I know that many laboratories are interested in this kind of cytometric analysis even though they are not yet doing it. If this is the case for you, you are welcome to send me an EMail and let me know if you are interested in (1) participating in the ISAC workshop or (2) participating in some sort of specialized mailing list or other electronic forum devoted to this topic. mr
