Could anyone please tell me if there are any problems associated with a 2 day delay between blood collection and processing for T cell sorting. I have a bone marrow transplant patient and we are sorting T cells for further analysis (not culture). Normally the blood is separated on a ficoll gradient then the cells stained with a CD3 marker and sorted. Time restraints may mean that I cannot process the blood immediately. If a delay is possible, what would be the best conditions for storage of the whole blood or separated cells? Thanks in anticipation, Jan Hesketh Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Facility Molecular Medicine University of Auckland New Zealand
