I've had a quick look at the innards of one of Kevin's files, and they're a long way off being FCS - could they be Profile? Does anyone know of any other Coulter proprietary file types of the same vintage as the EPICS-II? I have used an earlier model, the original EPICS, and can assure Kevin that the data is in FCS 1.0 format as interpreted by Coulter. The factor which is most important is the version of the MDADS software used on the EPICS. Another key element will be the number of channels per ADC, if one (or more) channels are 1024 range then 3rd party software will have difficulty interpretting the data. It will probably be easier to construct 256x256 channel histograms on the MDADS and transfer these to 3rd party programmes. I seem to remember that histograms were easier for 3rd party software to recognise.
