I am sending the following query from a student here. Please respond directly to him. Thanks, Julie **************************************************************************** I am a graduate student in cell biology at the University of Chicago, working in the lab of Aaron Turkewitz with the ciliate Tetrahymena thermophila. I would like to use a pH-sensitive GFP to measure dense-core secretory granules. These measurements require a comparison of emission at 508 nm between exciting at 410 and 470 nm. A FACS facility with the capability to excite at these two wavelengths (or within 5 nm) would make my data collection mush easier. Unfortunately, the University of Chicago's scanner uses lasers, with the closest wavelengths at 325 and 488 nm. I am looking for a Partec, or any other machine that uses a mercury arc lamp with appropriate excitation filters. Thank You-- Andy Cowan (atcowan@midway.uchicago.edu)
