Hi Rich, I have used the same module on a facstar+ in a BL3 facility sorting HIV infected cells. Basically, the module creates a slightly negative air pressure region within the sort chamber to avert the diffusion of small inhale-able particles into the ambient air. Other than the added noise and heat of the vacuum pump, I experienced no interference with the over-all use of the cytometer (sorting, alignment, drop delay, yield, etc). However, the time and effort spent confirming aerosol containment with T4-phage and E. coli is another story. Good luck with your new toy, ~jmb~ on 9/6/00 3:05 PM, Hastings Richard RC at richard.hastings@astrazeneca.com wrote: > > Hi, > > I run a Facs Vantage SE.
