Hi Thanos
Formalin is a tradename for an aquaous solution of formaldehyde, usual
about 35-40 % whereas paraformaldehyde (PFA) is a solid polymere of
formaldehyde.
The last is in water or buffers soluble if you add a little NaOH and you
must heat.
