I am posting the following position on behalf of a colleague, if interested could
you please
contact Dr Vyas at his E-mail address

Thanks
Ian Titley

The Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of Oxford has a full time position
for an
individual to be in charge of and run a FACS facility in the Institute. There are seven
different groups that use the facility. The common theme of research is the study of the
molecular mechanisms that underpin normal and abnormal haemopoiesis and in particular
erythroid
and megakaryocytic differentiation.
The activities of the facility include FACS sorting (with three and four colour cell
separation
to sort primary haemopoietic cell populations, including rare cell populations) and FACS
analysis of haematopoietic cells. In addition, the successful candidate will help
train and
supervise other members of the Unit who wish to perform FACS analysis. Currently,
the facility
has a Becton Dickinson FACStar Plus sorter with 2 laser sources and an automatic
cell deposition
unit for sterile collection of sorted cells. However, we wish to update or replace
the sorter in
the very near future. The facility also has a FACS Calibur analyser.

The position is available immediately and interested applicants should e-mail Dr Paresh
Vyas at
paresh.vyas@imm.ox.ac.uk.
