THANKS FOR YOUR REPLIES THESE ARE SOME OF THE REPLIES I GOT, AND WHAT I CAN COMMENT ON THEM (IN CAPITAL LETTERS) Your XL's data files are already in FCS 2.0 or 3.0 format. You should be able to read them directly. I don't use Attractors, but I use many other Mac-based software with Coulter files - no problem. I DO AGREE TO THE FIRST TWO SENTENCES BUT WHEN ONE USES THE PRG ATTACTORS 3.0 WHICH I DO HAVE, THE FILES WON'T BE READ.IAM DO NOT SURELY KHOW WHY. The list mode file created by System II on the XL are FCS files that basically comply with FCS 2.0 and 3.0 specifications. They are more compliant than current BD files that use proprietary keywords instead of the FCS listed and standard keywords. If BD software will not read the files then I suspect the problem is that the BD software is looking for those proprietary entries. Also, there may be an issue of the Mac file system needing something that is not included. MIGHT BE. SO ANY SOLUTIONS TO THIS? ARE THERE ANY FREE WARE TO DO THIS We have data files using Coulters XLSYSTEM II software on PC and would like to analyse them using Becton Dickinson's Attractors 3.0 software on a Macintosh. Does anyone know how this can be done? Is there any software to convert the data files to FCS format OR ANY FORMAT SPECIFICALLY to allow recognition by Attractors 3.0? OSCAR K.
