This you have stated! 2- Do you have a good local service support? One of the very important issues without which you unit could turn into a big frustration! 3- Does it allow you to choose whatever reagent you choose from any supplier, or it limits your choice to a particular one? Think carefully! The BD unit has 2 lasers (one is just like the pointers you use in lecturs). It has a very comprehensive software with many good features. This is their strong point. It does limit you to the use of certain colours. If you know what you are doing you can turn this to your advantage! The Beckman-Coulter unit is very flexiable but has only one laser. The unit is totally open and you can do whatever you like with it to do! The software is NOT as comprehensive as that of BD and needs many improvements. A new Windows based software is out now. It has many good features missing in the old DOS software but also lacks some of the other features available in the DOS software! The Dako unit is realy made by Partec. It has an open structure with many useful features that I saw at the ISAC show. It is impressive but I am sure that many others on the mailing list have better information about it. They will all do what you are after if you ask for 4 colour unit, but THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IS "LOCAL SUPPORT". Good luck with your choice. -- Warmest regards from: -------------------- Fareed Al-Gurg, Haematology, Dubai Hospital, Dubai - U.A.E.
