Dear Flowers, The Flow Crew here at Los Alamos came through the fire relatively unscathed, both personally and professionally. However several of our colleagues lost homes to the fire. It is pretty sobering to see what damage a wild fire can inflict! The wild part is being completely at the mercy of the winds. The intensity of the fire in places was amazing - heat to a level that melted guardrails along a road. Several of us did not make it to the ISAC meeting for a variety of reasons including being shut out of our labs since May 8th. We are sorry that we missed the science, camaraderie, and wine at Montpellier. We will be at San Diego in 2002! Thanks to all that expressed concern for our situation. Jim Jett James H. Jett, Ph.
