Hello cytometry group,
I am relatively new to flow cytometry and would like to draw
			on the
wealth of experience collected here. We currently have a bacterial samples
that are stained with a protein stain that emits in FL 1 (about 510nm) of
the facsort FC, used in an experiment then fixed with 1%
formaldehyde. would like to counterstain these samples afterwards with a
DNA stain to check non-target bugs. I have tried TO-PRO and found for our
target bug (gram-negative) the TO-PRO does not stain consistently for
concentrations in the region of 1e5-1e7. Can anybody recommend a DNA stain
that emits blue and can work well for DNA staining 1e5-1e7 concentrations
of bacteria? Thanks for your help and I look forward to participating in
this great resource.
