There is of course the ISAC meeting in France in May. For further information contact their web site. The Clinical Cytometry Meeting will be November 9-15 in Austin Texas. For further information contact Ms. Carol Eckenwiler at clee@chaffee.net. There is also, in my opinion, an excellent Flow Cytometry course being given this August in Chicago. For the first time in quite a few years the Clinical Flow Cytometry course traditionally linked with the Clinical Applications of Cytometry Meeting will be linked with the Chicago/Dartmouth Flow Cytometry Course. The result- a comprehensive course covering the major current clinical applications of flow cytometry and image analysis taught in two consecutive sessions. Session 1 Concentrates on data analysis, interpretation and clinicopathologic correlation with intensive review of the most common clinical applications of flow cytometry. Topics include diagnosis of acute leukemia and lymphoproliferative disorders, minimal residual disease detection, stem cell enumeration, monitoring of immune recovery following bone marrow transplantation, platelet testing, cross-matching for transplant, molecular markers of neoplasia, apoptosis, DNA cell cycle evaluation of solid tumors. Session 2 concentrates on the basics of flow cytometry and image analysis in the clinical laboratory. Emphasis is placed on the technical aspects of the methodology and data analysis including clinicopathologic correlation to stress the role of cytometry as part of an integrated diagnostic approach. For further information on the course contact myself, Ms. Carol Eckenwiler at clee@chaffee.net or Chuck Goolsby at c-goolsby@nwu.edu.
