Hello,
We would like to enumerate malaria infected reticulocytes and
normocytes by flow cytometry (murine malarias). Currently we count
infected RBC using thiazole orange staining, and can generally
distinguish retics from infected cells by the level of staining, but
obviously cannot tell infected retics from infected normocytes. We have
a Coulter XL, so are somewhat limited in the dyes that we can use. Can
anyone suggest a DNA-only and an RNA-only dye that could be used
simultaneously for this kind of analysis? Thanks in advance for your
help.
Anne
