We are interested in using beads to measure antibody titers, as outlined in
recent papers in JIM and Cytometry. I was curious if anyone knew of sources
for beads and what comments you have on those sources. So far we have tried
Molecular Probes 1 micron red beads and Polysciences 2 micron unlabeled
beads. The beads from Molecular Probes are pretty much a uniform population
with very little in the way of variance in forward or side scatter. The
Polysciences beads, on the other hand...

Ultimately we would like to be able to assay antibody responses to two or
more antigens at the same time, so it is crucial for our work that we be
able to easily distinguish the beads from one another. We can use beads of
different colors, but also would like to be able to use beads of different
size as well.
