Dear Neo Sim Yee,

Possibly the most suitable inactivation process is gamma irradiation.

A company called BTF Pty Ltd in Australia (fx: (02) 9948 9112; email -
btf@acay.com.au; contact Dr. Graham Vesey) prepare flow sorted- gamma irradiated
cysts/oocysts called EasySeed. The EasySeed should be ideal for your purposes as
it contains a stable, inactivated population of approx. 100 cysts/oocysts
(cv>3%). Ensuring accuracy in spike/seed experiments is one of the most crucial
and labour intensive areas in G/C work. EasySeed simplifies this.

Dr. Vesey also performed the definitive work using flow cytrometry and G/C.
