Here we routinely use polystyrene round bottom plates, for the following reasons: 1. Less chance of compaction of cells in bottom of V 2. Both the granulocytes and platelets are only used in serological studies. For any of my work involving platelets in a resting state I use polypropylene. Although I've found that I lose more platelets in a PP 96 well plate. This is probably due to the less aggressive centrifugation though. I wonder if V-bottom wells in polypropylene would be even better? Any opinions on this? Are these plates available?
