Dear Friends, Our lab is currently doing CD34 Stem Cell analysis by FCM for our center's High Dose Chemotherapy Stem Cell Program. We receive minimal reimbursement for this test. Our flow lab also has the responsibility for providing space, personnel, equipment and materials for the corresponding Stem Cell Tissue Culture Colony Assays, with no financial reimbursement. We are currently evaluating R&D Systems' Status Flow Pro CD34 Whole Blood Process Control and are showing very good correlation with the assay values. My question then is, do your centers still require the Colony Assays and would running a commercial control with each test or batch of tests eliminate the need for Colony Assays? Your comments will be very helpful.
