Dear Flow Community I have a 3 color [count'em!] BD FACS 440, c.1985 [sorry, no lasers ] available that used to sort just wonderfully [2500-3000 cells/sec with superb purity!], although the years have taken something of a toll on some aspects related to the instruments operation. Minor stuff. The cognoscenti may think of this gem as an autographed, 'hot-rodded Mike Yee' model, meaning that it worked much much better than any stock instrument, [hard to believe, but true], but in terms of going back to the original schematics......well, that could be something of a problem because as far as I remember rigorous documentation was not necessarily a component of Mike's abundance of pure cytometric art and genius - he was far too busy being so wonderfully creative! So, if there is a handy-person out there with a small truck that can really use the instrument, a bushel of spare parts, and is not intimidated by hand- wire wrapped boards or the joy of the ND624 [perhaps still useful for splitting plutonium?], feel free to contact me. Please, no jokes about an anchor for your boat, fill for your yard or the scrap value of aluminum...this beauty has great emotional value to me [although my therapist has called me tenaciously nostalgic]. We simply dont have the space for it. Tearfully, F Preffer ```````````````````````````````````````````` Dr. Frederic I.
