Unreadable Files

I am submitting this question for a colleague, so only have a limited amount 
of information, but hopefully someone will be able to help.

A colleague has some files generated on a BD instrument, which have been run 
through a conversion programme so that they can be read in Windows 2.0 system 
2. The problem is that the files cannot be opened in IMMUNOCOUNT. The file 
ext is LMD (LIST MODE DATA). Does the ext need to be changed, is more 
information needed to answer this question?
