All.... I have been following the messages regarding the HL60 cell line with some interest. We have several lots of HL60 cells that we use for induction to PMNs and subsequent use in both viable cell and flow cytometric (fixed bacteria) opsonophagocytic assays. We have recently observed differences in growth and phenotype in two of our HL60 lots, particularly in the FcgRI and CD35 expression, both before and especially after induction. Any additional info would be helpful, especially any data regarding HL60 cell phenotypes after chemical induction (by dimethylformamide) for PMNs? Also any info regarding variability of phenotype or functionality in these cells from lot to lot? Thanks, Joseph Martinez Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Atlanta, GA
