Does monensin interfer with antigen presentation?

I am planning studies on intracellular cytokin analysis after antigen specific
stimulation of PBMC or whole blood. We use whole antigen protein, thus, the
antigen must be processed before presenting to lymphocytes. Monensin is said to
be non-toxic if used for less than 20 hours. 20 hours might be enough for
antigen processing and presentation. Can we add monensin simultaneously with
antigen, and incubate for 20 hours?

Thanks much!
