I have used a product from Cardinal Associates (877-359-3249)
called Nim2.  It is a 2 layer gradient for mouse and rat blood.  I have
used as little as 100ul of blood to get great yeild.  The PBLs are left
in much better shape, as lysing is very hard on them.  Good luck,
