Dear group, Our pathology group is in the market for a new updated anatomic pathology computer system (we have and older version of copath right now). At this point all our departments are asked to evaluate important criteria such as ease of use, ability to customize, training, billing, customer support, cost etc. Obviously each department has different goals but working in flow I always felt that the ability to customize reports is very important. At this time we accession all specimens through CoPath, then report mostly through Wordperfect, and then cut and paste a summary (through Pathstation) back into CoPath so the info is accessible to everybody on the system. The reason for this is that our version of copath is very rigid and does not allow for different fonts and tables which we find necessary for most of our reports. The disadvantage is oviously that it is time-consuming and allows for more errors by transferring the data. Now here are my questions: 1. How do you accession and report out your flow results? Do you use your own in-house sytem, general laboratory information system or do you accession and report through an anatomic pathology system? 2. If you use an anatomic pathology system, which one are you using and how "flow-friendly" would you rate it? 3. If you had the choice, which system do you find most suitable from a flow standpoint and why? If I get enough answers I would be happy to summarize the responses for this group. Thanks for your input! Andrea Illingworth Dahl-Chase Diagnostic Services/Flow Cytometry 333 State Street Bangor, Maine 04401 (207)990-4855 -- End --
